Ive not fished it this year so my info may be a little out of date.
There always used to be a steady drop off to the center of the lake until a few years ago when the dredger came in and cut a channel to approx 7ft about 2 to 4mtrs out off the bank on the tennis courts side which i should imagine will hold plenty of fish as the colder weather comes upon us.
there is also a deeper hole around the fountain that tends to hold a better stamp of fish.
Fish.
Roach rudd, perch, skimmer bream, carp and the odd tench all hold residence.i'm also aware of 1000 grass carp put in a few years ago.
Most baits will work but i prefer worm and castor on a feeder out into the edge of the weedbed that surrounds the fountain,in the cooler months this is where most of my fish were taken.
3 to 4 lb mainline with a 2lb hooklink will suffice, size 16 to 20 hook will be ample as there is quite alot of weed out in the center, and should some of the bigger fish take your bait, you will need some strength to pull them through it.
If not, keep within the 4 mtr line and plumb well to find the trough, steady feed, but not too heavy will keep fish interested to shoal up fairly tight.
Try to get there early as fishing is best at first light,by mid morning it will start to slow down.
Most of the lilly pads will also hold fish, but are in shallower water so the fish will spook quite easily.
Hth's
