In the gallery i have seen a few nice carp which were caught in Ty Coch canal. I fancy giving it a go. Does any one have any directions on how to get there??

Hi Stevo, im guessing a few of the carp you saw in the gallery were in fact caught by myself and dad? Sadly, I wouldn't bother going down there now, not after the carp anyway. They took the majority of the lumps out, supposedly moving them up to the firestation stretch further up, though i never saw them again. Don't get me wrong, there are still a few carp there, and the silver fishing is ok, but it's nothing like it used to be. I used to fish there 2 or 3 times a week, averaging 2 carp over 10lb each session, even when i was fishing through ice!! Managed to sort out a routiene which would rarely fail (sounds big headed I know, but i got the pics to prove it ;D) Oh and I now believe they limit the amount of day tickets sold, which have to bought from the pet-shop in old-cwmbran. Give it a bash if you fancy, it may have improved, but i doubt i'll be back again which is a real shame. oh, it's on the ty-coch industrial estate on the way to Cwmbran. Head towards Cwmbran from the top of Malpas Road, turn 1st left at the roundabout (signposted ty-coch ind. estate, and it might be the second roundabout you get to??) then first right then first left into a housing development alongside the canal!! ;D my directions sound complicated but it really isn't
