WHEN YOU LOOK ON RECORD FISH ON THE NAA WEB SITE THERE IS A PLACE CALLED ST JULIANS POND IV BEEN TOLD THAT IT USED TO BE A RELLY GOOD FISHING PLACE THE BEST PLACE IN NEWPORT TO FISH WITH A LOT OF NEWPORTS RECORDS COMEING OUT OF THERE BUT SADLY THEY BUILT THE MOTORWAY OVER IT IN THE LATE 50S

Iirc the pond was situated on junction 25,and included the rear of bank street.
Seem to remember it being a brick yard.
If you pop into the cabin at morgans,there is or was an illustrated drawing of the pond.

I've heard some cracking stories about the pond from none other than my dad lol. Perch after perch being caught from round the sunken cars!! Very deep and very good fishing, will try and find out more.

Go to the woodstock cabin,and chat to the guy's there.
I know some of those records still stand,and the info is still out there.

In fact, and a real shame, they didnt actually build the M4 over the pond but skirted it instead, but by then it was too late and already filled in.
